  • Upgrading To The New Windows Vista Operating System - presented by Zack Fox of Susquehanna Computer Innovations . Is your computer upgradeable, what do you need to upgrade, which version of Vista do you want, demonstration of Vista basics, and answers to any other questions you may have.

* Wed May 23, 5:30 - 7:30 pm, Computer Club -- Identity Theft
  • You've possibly already "dug through" the mountains of statistics and what-to-do's in all the articles in the papers and magazines about Identity Theft. Now come and let Dean Ely "pull it all together" for you. This presentation is geared to both people who don't use a computer as well as people who do.
  • Dean will discuss all aspects of ID Theft, including what it’s all about, how big a problem is I D Theft, how does Identity Theft occur, Phishing & Pharming, how can you tell if you are a victim of I D Theft, getting your credit report, tips for staying safe on-line, passwords and pin numbers, banking, paying bills or making on-line purchases, what to do if your personal information is lost or stolen, what actions you need to take quickly, and other immediate steps for identity theft victims.
  • Dean is one of 24 members of the Pennsylvania AARP Consumer Issues Task Force, that monitors ID Theft, home improvement scams, investment scams, payday lending, precious metals/coin investments, foreign money offers, power cut-off by utilities, and energy assistance programs . . . to name a few. He is a retired Field Investigator after thirty-six years with the Pennsylvania Bureau of Standard Weights and Measures, and was involved in hundreds of investigations on issues of fraud relating to weights and measures laws, many of those ending up in courts of law. He has been “on-line” since the mid eighties -- utilizing the computer for communication, banking and as source of information.

Come, relax, and let Rob Colley of Hoyers Photo Supply do all the work of making sense of all these choices for you.
    * Rob will bring along several examples of cameras, camcorders, & printers, and recommend what features to look for, and give you an idea of how much to expect to budget for it.

    * Hoyer's Photo Supply Company was founded in 1935 by C. Frank Hoyer, the Great Uncle of President Robert W. Colley. Bob's father G. Walter Colley took over as manager of the business in 1938. Today Bob and his son, Robert W. Colley, Jr. continue to run the family business after 71 years.
